Mickey Mouse Inspired Beanie Pattern *FREE*

The particular hat pictured was made specifically for my 4 1/2 year old son who is in love with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! You can modify the pattern or use a larger or smaller hook to achieve the correct size. Earflaps CAN be added if you would like them to be, but he does not like them so he didn’t want them on his hat!

 
Materials needed; 
 
Size H/8 5.00 MM hook
Small amount of Black yarn
Small amount of Red yarn
Even smaller amount of yellow & white yarn!
 

This hat is made in rounds so do NOT join after each round! 

  1. Make a magic ring – Chain 1 – 8 single crochet (sc) in ring.
  2. 2 half double crochet (hdc) in each sc. (16 stitches total)
  3. 1 hdc in next hdc, 2 in next.. *repeat 8 more times* (24 stitches total)
  4. 1 hdc in each of the next 2 hdc, 2 in next. *repeat 8 more times* (32 stitches total)
  5. 1 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc, 2 in next. *repeat 8 more times* (40 stitches total)
  6. 1 hdc in each of the next 4 hdc, 2 in next. *repeat 8 more times* (48 stitches total) 
  7. 1 hdc in each of the next 5 hdc, 2 in next. *repeat 8 more times* (56 stitches total)
  8. 1 hdc in each of the next 6 hdc, 2 in next. *repeat 8 more times* (64 stitches total) 
For rounds 9, 10 & 11, make 1 hdc in each of the next around! (total of 64 per round, or 192 stitches total. 
 
Finish off your black yarn. 
 
Switch to red. For rounds 12, 13, 14, & 15 – make 1 hdc in each stitch of previous rounds! Finish off. (total of 64 stitches per round OR 256 stitches total!)
 
Row 16 – single crochet in YELLOW – total of 64 stitches total in single crochet’s! 
 
Finish off. 
 
For your ears; 
MAKE 2.
  1. Make a magic ring – Chain 1 – 6 sc in ring.
  2. 2 sc in each sc around. (12 stitches total) 
  3. 1 sc in next sc, 2 in next. *repeat 6 times* (18 stitches total)
  4. 1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 in next. *repeat 6 times*(24 stitches total)
  5. 1 sc in next 7 sc, 2 in next. *repeat twice*(27 stitches total)
  6. Finish off – leave a tail for sewing onto top of hat!
 
You will need a small bit of white yarn for the buttons to go on the red. 
 
MAKE 2…
  1. Chain 2.
  2. 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook. (6 stitches total)
  3. 2 sc in each sc around. (12 stitches total)
  4. Finish off & leave a tail to sew onto hat!
