Growing up, I always wanted a sister. My mom had my youngest 2 brothers when I was 12 and 13 years old, and I wished with all my might that one of them was going to be a girl. I didn’t get a sister, but ya know what, that’s fine. The fact that I have 3 brothers, means that eventually, I will also have 3 sisters because they will get married! I hope. Lol.
Being the oldest of 4 children, and the only girl, I am pretty protective over my brothers, even though they are all bigger than me now. Tim always has been “bigger” than me, but he’s still my little brother. We fought like cats and dogs growing up, but once we hit our teen years, we got pretty close. I gained a sister the day he married his high school sweetheart, Nicole! They have given me my 2 absolutely adorable nephews, Tobias (who will be 6 next year!) and Chandler, who is 7 weeks older than Rosalie. Dylan and Will are the 2 youngest ones, but they are still bigger than me. All 3 of my brothers are over 6 foot tall, and I barely come up to their chins, if I even come up to their shoulders! Dylan will be giving me another sister this weekend, when he marries his fiance, Alexis! All 3 of my kids are doing something with the wedding. Rosalie is flower girl, Michael and Connor are ushers. They have NO idea what ushers do lol. Well, I think Connor does, because when I mentioned it to him, he said, “Isn’t that what Will and that other boy did at Angie’s wedding?” Angie is my cousin, and Rosalie was also flower girl in her wedding in June. She has been very impatiently waiting for Dylan’s wedding to come around so she could be flower girl at it too.
One of these days, Will will find a girl who he wants to spend the rest of his life with too! I’m not so much in a hurry for that to happen, because being almost 14 years older than he is, I’ve always been extremely protective over him and he’s my baby brother, for crying out loud! I bawled like a baby when he graduated last May. It’s crazy! If you think honestly about it, I could be old enough to be his mom, if I was that kind of girl when I was 14. I wasn’t. I was one of those girls who waited. The day before my high school graduation, to be frank. But… yeah.. he’s my baby brother and I am in no way hurrying him to get married. Saturday will be bad enough because I’m sure I’ll be a blubbering mess at the fact that Dylan is getting married!
I’m excited for him and Alexis though! I know they’re going to be happy together. I enjoy being around them because when he picks on her, she picks right back. She fits in with the family really well.
She could be a little nicer to Michael, but thankfully Michael just lets it go when she gets onto him and not Connor.
That’s a story for a different time.
