I have spoken to 5-6 people who have a Daith Piercing and they have said they help their headaches immensely. I wake up about 5 out of 7 days with a headache, and at least 2 of those days they last almost all day. I don’t know if they’re migraines, if I’ve ever had a migraine, or anything like that, but I do know that on Sunday, I woke up with the worse headache I’ve had in a while. Mine are always on the right side right above my eye.
I thought maybe Coffee would help, so I immediately went to get a cup of coffee. No luck. It was so bad, it took my appetite away. I didn’t have breakfast that morning, because #1, I’m not a huge fan of pancakes and that’s what my Grammie fixed and #2, just the thought of eating made me feel sick to my stomach.
And that’s another thing, I felt pretty sick. The whole time trying to help Hubby load the Uhaul trailer to the truck, finding what we would have needed at the Auto Parts store to get a tow bar, and just riding in his work van, which is what we took with us, absolutely hurt my head. Of course, him being funny, he kept saying I was pregnant, because I mentioned I felt really sick to my stomach. #1, I just finished that time of the month a couple weeks ago. #2, I’ve had my tubes tied and chances of a good outcome should I get pregnant wouldn’t be great. #3, He’s not funny, because I miss being pregnant and would love another little baby around the house.
Once the kids got out of church with my Grammie and parents and were brought back out to my Grandparents house, we ate a bit of lunch (sandwiches and chips) and I only ate half a bologna and cheese sandwich (still low on the appetite) and Hubby, my dad, Grandpa (who just watched) and Michael loaded the van on the back of the trailer. Rosalie would have given anything to go outside and help, but I think she would have probably just been in the way, so we kept her inside. I went about my business gathering all her birthday gifts up around the house and got all out stuff packed and then brought into the kitchen so they could just go out the front door and be put in the van.
Still hurting. I even grabbed an ENERGY drink out of the pack, stuck it in the freezer so it would get cold faster and drank it. Still nothing. Once we got on the road, we stopped about 5 miles up the road to get drinks and some fuel. I told Hubby I was going to try to take a nap, and I slept from Koshkonong to Rogersville (only about 1 hour 43 minutes) when we did our first potty break and got food at McDonalds. Since this McDonalds is mixed in with a gas station, once I ordered my salad (which was awful) and parfait from McDonalds I went over to the gas station part and got some Excedrin. I was looking for the Migraine kind, but they didn’t have it so I just grabbed the extra strength. When I woke up, the headache was more dull than it was when I fell asleep, and thankfully the Excedrin helped quite a bit.
Something I noticed about the headache Sunday was that it hurt to have my eyes open. It was a very nice day out, sunny, and that made it so hard to keep my eyes open.
From what I have read on Mayo Clinic about Migraines, here is what I dealt with Sunday.
- Increased thirst Friday and Saturday.
- Pain right above the right eye on Sunday.
- Sensitivity to Light
Do you have a daith piercing for headaches?
I’ve seen some REALLY cute earrings for the piercing, some that are hearts, but I have heard that the barbells hurt less, especially when it comes to at first. I’ve already read that I would need to go back to the piercer to get it changed out, so that might be a good thing, not being able to do it myself so I wouldn’t buy so much jewelry for it!
